The United States Embassy, in partnership with the UC School of Law, organized a special forum on the topic, “Environmental Crises and Opportunities in the South China Sea” last June 3, 2019 at the UC School of Medicine Amphitheater Lecture Hall in Mandaue City. The said forum was attended by guest lecturer– Mr. Gregory Poling, Director for Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative, as well as maritime and law students from schools in Cebu and representatives of some non-governmental organizations that advocate environmental protection and conservation.
