In relation to Bar Matter No. 3490 (Regionalization of the Next Bar Examinations) dated April 29, 2020, the Supreme Court issued a resolution:
1. designating Cebu City as a regional site for the next Bar Examinations; and
2. giving law graduates from the Visayas and Mindanao the option to take the next Bar Examinations in Manila or Cebu City.
The Supreme Court earlier issued Bar Bulletin No. 11, Series of 2020, announcing the postponement of the 2020 Bar Examinations (“Leonen Bar”) to next year. An announcement on the specific dates of the Leonen Bar is yet to be made.
The regionalization of the Bar examinations is a dream come true for many provincial law schools, especially for former Dean Baldomero Estenzo and the UC Law alumni and students who lobbied for the Bar regionalization for several years. It is indeed a victory for all Bar candidates from the provincial law schools.
