The start of classes for the fourth semester of the University of Cebu (UC) – San Sebastian College Recoletos (SSCR) Master of Laws Consortium Program was officially declared during the SSCR Graduate School of Law’s virtual National Opening Day held yesterday.
The event was attended by SSCR President Fr. Nemesio Tolentin, SSCR Graduate School of Law Dean Rodel Taton, the deans of SSCR’s partner law schools, including UC School of Law Dean Al-Shwaid de Leon Ismael who gave a welcome message, and the students of the LLM program from the said partner law schools.
In December 2018, UC signed a memorandum of agreement with SSCR for the offering of the LLM Consortium Program exclusively for the faculty and alumni of UC Law and qualified personnel of UC. After two semesters, UC was allowed to open the program to non-UC Law alumni and non-UC personnel. The program commenced in February 2019, with the first batch of students expected to graduate this semester.
The program is part of UC Law’s professional development initiative for its faculty and alumni. At present, it has 3 faculty members who are LLM degree holders and 21 faculty members who are LLM candidates.
At UC Law, we embrace our vision, that is, to become a leading institution for legal education, ethical excellence, global competence, and social responsiveness. We walk the talk.
