The UC School of Law and its law student government, the University of Cebu Law Students Society (UCLASS) (UCLASS), jointly organized activities last week in celebration of the Philippine Law Week 2020.
The celebration kicked-off with a Trivia Night for the September 19, 2020 Law Day, followed by a webinar entitled, “SIKLO: The Unending Cycle of Resistance”, on September 21, 2020 where the resource speakers and attendees revisited history.
The UC Legal Aid Office, in partnership with IBP Cebu Chapter, then gave a talk to the teachers of schools under the supervision of the Department of Education – Mandaue on September 25, 2020. It was the first of a series of lectures.
Finally, on September 26, 2020, a forum entitled, “Voter’s Education Forum: Your Vote, Our Future” was conducted. The week-long celebration culminated with the first-ever UC Law virtual recognition ceremony held on the same day.
Presidential Proclamation No. 640, series of 1995, declared the third week of September every year as Philippine National Week Law and Presidential Proclamation No. 1477, series of 1975, declared September 19 of every year as Law Day.
