U.S. Embassy and TAF visit UC Law’s Legal Aid Office

Last July 14, 2022, representatives of the United States Embassy and The Asia Foundation (TAF) visited the University of Cebu School of Law and its Legal Aid Office to further strengthen their partnership with the law school to ensure increased access to justice to many Filipinos. 

Present during the visit were Director Kelia Cummins and Legal Specialist Chudney Ngo of the US Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, TAF Program Officer Atty. Reuel Realin, Dean Emeritus and UC Legal Aid and Law Center Inc. (UCLALCI) President Atty. Baldomero Estenzo, UC Law Dean and UCLALCI Admin-Executive Director Atty. Al-Shwaid Ismael, UC Office of Legal Aid (OLA) Director Atty. Christopher John Menguito as well as representatives of the UC Admininistration.

During the visit, TAF also turned over mobile phone and sim cards to the OLA to be used as a hotline number for the community to easily reach the Legal Aid Office wherever whenever.
