The UC School of Law culminated its year-long 20th founding anniversary celebration with the Grand Alumni Homecoming and Recognition of Faculty last December 10, 2022 at Seda Hotel, Cebu City.

With the theme, “UC Law at 20: Building a Legacy of Excellence and Service,” the event was organized by the UC Law Alumni Association (UCLAA), in coordination with the Office of the Dean, and attended by more than a hundred alumni from different batches. 

Also present during the celebration were UC Chairperson Atty. Augusto W. Go, Executive Vice Chancellor Atty. Manuel Elijah Sarausad, Director of Finance and Legal Atty. Ria Lidia Espina, UC Law Dean Al-Shwaid Ismael and Dean Emeritus Baldomero C. Estenzo, UCLAA President Atty. Jay Pujanes, the members of the Law Faculty and Staff, and officers of the UC Law Students Society.

The Honorable Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo of the Philippine Supreme Court, through a written message, congratulated UC Law on its 20th anniversary. He also mentioned “the law school’s important role in the country’s first-ever regionalized and digitalized Bar Examinations— as yet another example of the impact that UC Law has had not just on the communities around it, but on the legal profession and indeed our entire nation.”

During the event, professors who have taught at UC Law for at least 5 years were each recognized and given a plaque and token. The UCLAA also elected its new set of officers.

To date, UC Law has produced 17 batches, over 400 graduates, and 6 Bar exams placers, and won several local and international competitions.
